August is upon us and Brother ChiSing continues his 108-day sabbatical, facilitating our gatherings on the Sundays while he comes through Dallas. We are having a beautiful summer of guest speakers and members of the Sangha sharing facilitation duties. It is truly a sangha.

On his travels through Dallas, Brother ChiSing has completed the compilation CD Awakening Heart: Music for Spiritual Living featuring many of the musicians who have shared their music at our gatherings, including Gary Floyd, Charity, Cary Cooper, Tom Prasada-Rao, Cornell Kinderknecht, Kerri Arista, Michael Gott, Robin Hackett, etc. The CD also introduces the song "One Heart" written by Brother ChiSing and Gary Floyd. The CDs are available at all of our gatherings, in the Unity Church of Dallas bookstore, in the Center for Spiritual Living bookstore, or directly from Brother ChiSing. The CD will be available online soon at www.BrotherChiSing.com. Proceeds from the sale of this CD go towards funding of Brother ChiSing's music CD project of which half of the profits will go to organizations supporting humane and environmental causes.

On Sunday, August 16, 2009 - 5:30pm (doors open at 5pm), Awakening Heart will host a Special Event at our weekly gathering. Zen Master Kosho McCall from the San Francisco Zen Center will be our guest speaker, presenting Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind. Please help spread the word to other spiritual communities and interested parties. Bring your friends and famiy. Brother ChiSing will facilitate and Michael Gott will share music. Get a flyer here.
